Scotland’s greenest office needs parasols for their office workers

Some (almost 300) staff at Scotland’s “greenest building” are apparently having difficulty seeing their computer screens, when the sun is shining:

The £15million eco-friendly building lets in too much sunlight for employees to do their jobs properly.

So staff at Great Glen House in Inverness have been given the makeshift parasols.

But that hasn’t done the trick and now bosses are offering a contract, worth thousands of pounds, for special window shades at the 65,000sq ft building.

This is a bit amusing. An apparently famously “green” building that has won numerous awards becomes essentially partly unusable when exposed to sunshine. Yes, this may sound a bit harsh, but the point stands: There is a design flaw and appropriate shading seems pretty essential for an office building.

I do enjoy imagining hundreds of office workers seeking shade under parasols though.
